Where is Cocoon Wood?
In Saint-Paul-sur-Yenne, Savoie, in the foothills of the French Alps: 10 minutes from Lake Bourget and 20 minutes from Chambéry and Aix-les-Bains.
How far is it from Lyon and Geneva?
About 1 hour by car from Lyon (A43 motorway) and about 1h15 from Geneva.
What kind of accommodation do you offer?
Two wooden lodges for two, L’Original and Le Nouveau, and a 140 m² group house for up to 15 guests (7 bedrooms, 16 single beds).
How much does a night cost?
The lodges start at €280 per night for two, breakfast included, and the group house starts at €400 per night. Rates vary with the season and dates; exact prices and availability are on our booking page.
Is Cocoon Wood connected to another place to stay in Saint-Paul-sur-Yenne?
No. Cocoon Wood is an independent family business at 180 impasse du Colonel, Saint-Paul-sur-Yenne: two lodges, L’Original and Le Nouveau, and a group house for 15. Other accommodation exists in the village, such as Les Balcons de la Terrosière, but they are separate businesses with their own bookings and reviews.
Do the lodges have a private hot tub and sauna?
Yes. Each lodge has its own whirlpool bath and its own sauna, for its guests only. Nothing is shared. L’Original has a wood stove; Le Nouveau has an open view with no neighbours and an outdoor fire pit.
How is wastewater treated at Cocoon Wood?
The toilets and bathrooms work exactly as they do at home. The difference is what happens next: wastewater flows into our reed bed system (phytoépuration), a clean, natural treatment method in which the water is filtered by reeds. The water from the balneo bath goes into a collection pond, together with rainwater. Both are wonderful for local wildlife: we have seen dragonflies appear, and they are formidable mosquito hunters.
Is breakfast included?
Yes, in the lodges: a generous breakfast with local produce, on the terrace or in bed. You can also order dinner: plancha BBQ in summer, raclette or fondue in winter, or a vegetarian meal.
Is it a good place for a romantic getaway?
That is exactly what the lodges are made for: an intimate setting in nature, private sauna and hot tub, candles and a record player, with optional Champagne, dinner, flowers or a romantic decoration.
Can I bring a child or a dog?
A child can stay in the lodges. Dogs are welcome for a €20 supplement; with very large dogs, we ask that they stay on the terrace as much as possible. Cats are not allowed inside the lodges because some guests are allergic.
How do check-in and check-out work?
Self check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 11 am. You’ll receive all the details by text or email before arrival.
Can I come without a car?
Yes. Take the train to Chambéry or Aix-les-Bains and we can arrange a taxi (about €70–100). Two e-bikes are available for free on site.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival are not refunded. We can put your night back on sale: if it is rebooked, we offer a full refund or a new date.
